The Manager, Underwriting and Corporate Support position is a 12-month full-time, grant-funded, professional/managerial position. The successful candidate will plan, implement, and evaluate ongoing corporate support fundraising at WSRE while identifying new opportunities for corporate sponsorships such as online and mobile opportunities, event sponsorships, and more. Additionally, the Manager will develop prospect lists of potential underwriters, sponsors, advertisers, and business partners; review all underwriting messages for conformity to non-commercial underwriting standards and adherence to FCC guidelines; create ongoing and special underwriting sales opportunities; develop and make presentations; manage relationship with a large number of businesses that support WSRE programs, events, and projects; manage the billing process and contract fulfillment with other departments (traffic and production) for monthly/quarterly underwriting billing and submit monthly reports of department underwriting activities; participate in WSRE fundraising activities, including on-air drives; and represent organization at community events. This position may require working irregular hours, travel to special events, overnight travel and occasionally work evenings and weekends. The Manager, Underwriting and Corporate Support reports to the Director of Development and Community Engagement, WSRE.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic discipline (Communications, Business, Marketing, or Education) and four years successful work experience in a business environment with three years’ experience in direct sales or marketing or in fundraising in the nonprofit sector. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer training in Pro-Track and Allegiance software; an understanding of and commitment to public media; valid driver’s license and ability to use personal vehicle for local business purposes; and management experience.
SALARY RANGE: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable. However, the College does not generally hire at the top of the range.)
